The Algren Family | Normal Day

When I started this business some 17 years ago my hope was that I would be a family historian of sorts. That I would be able to produce meaningful images over many years for people and be a witness to their lives as they unfold. The Algren family has been one such family. I have been documenting this family for nearly a decade and baring one trip to grade school on our first session all the images I have made have  happened under the same roof. I have seen new children join the family, old dogs pass away, new dogs come along, and kitchen remodels happen. All this under the same roof confined by the same walls yet all totally different experiences. As a documentary photographer the location never really matters. As long as the moments and the connections between the people are good that’s all I need. The Algren’s always provide that in such an honest raw way it is always a pleasure to document them. It amazes me to see this family evolve and change over the years. Can’t wait for another 3 years to see what is in store next time. Here are a few images from our most recent session. Enjoy!
