It was nice to get back in the saddle recently for Lauren and Jacob’s small intimate wedding at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri. Like many 2020 wedding couples Lauren and Jacob decided to not have the large Kansas City wedding they originally had planned and instead decided to have a small 15 person wedding where they got engaged at Big Cedar Lodge with a larger party the following year in 2021. It ended up being such a perfect event that was designed and coordinated by Michael Nolte of Nolte’s Bridal in Kansas City. The ceremony took place at the Top of The Rock Chapel at Big Cedar Lodge with an intimate dinner reception following for their closest friends and family. Our style of documentary storytelling wedding photography is perfect for these micro weddings. With the world turned upside down with the COVID-19 virus large weddings are now a thing of the past for the foreseeable future so being able to photograph events in a way that makes it feel like it felt to be there is even more important than before. Lauren and Jacob have amazing families and this day was full of emotional moments that showed that. I was honored to be able to witness such love between everyone on this perfect day overlooking Table Rock Lake. The moment when Lauren’s dad first saw her in her wedding dress minutes before walking her down the aisle was one of the most emotional I have witnessed in my 18 years as a wedding photographer. The day was full of perfect moments, perfect weather, and the perfect scenery. Congrats Lauren and Jacob!
