Practicing what we preach….

We talk and talk about letting us be your family historians, and we realize that we do not do that enough for ourselves. We are always so “spent” after  the work week that when we get some down time we tend to leave the camera alone. If anything this should be the one time that we have it the most. I am excited that Tyler did this. Capturing the cousins on our latest trip to Chicago make up some of my favorite images in a very long time.

I do not realize how much I miss my family until I am with them again. I got to spend time with my parents which I always love, but this trip a lot more of it was spent with my brother and his family. Mark and I get together  –  and it is like we we are 11 and 13 again. He plays pranks, I still fall for them…it never gets old. Except now all the kids laugh right along with us. Watching his kids and mine be together and love each other the way that they do makes my heart swell. Although they do not see each other that often their close ages makes them built in best friends the minute they get together again.  It really does not get much better than family. Now I just have to convince them to move to KC and life will be perfect! Enjoy a few of my favorites from what Tyler shot that wonderful weekend.

Boys and their water guns. Never gets old. Joey is getting into the act with Zach.

Samantha getting ready for the beach. Too bad nap time interrupted her fun!

Alex concentrating hard on the task at hand.

Poor Zach was not as enamored with the cold water. He lasted about 10 minutes and then hung on the beach with Grandma.

Although the ice cream vendor cheered everyone right up!

A very little portrait session…since who knows when we will have them all together, clean and happy again.

A little pic that I took which is full of a few of my favorite people!

Thanks for stopping and taking the time to enjoy a part of our life. Stay turned…tomorrow is Teaser Tuesday.

This just makes me realize how much I’m missing you and your kids, too. I wish I could see you all more often. The pictures are wonderful; thanks for sharing.
