Best Kansas City Wedding photos 2016 | Celebrating love in 2016

Happy 2017 from Wirken Photography! We hope your year is starting out wonderful. Ours has been a bit crazy hence this best of Kansas City wedding photos of 2016 post coming so late. But as they say better late than never. Tyler had a blast last year working with such wonderful clients. We know all photographers say they love their clients but it truly is what makes the difference for us at Wirken Photography. The trust that is given to us from our clients is paramount to making us one of the luckiest wedding photographers in Kansas City. There is simply no way Tyler could do what he does without that trust. Not only do our clients trust him to be present during sometimes intimate moments but more importantly they trust the decisions he is making on a wedding day allowing him to make the best photos possible. That relationship is crucial and we cannot thank our wonderful couples enough for allowing us to stretch our creativity and really take some risks that more often than not turn into huge rewards. With that we have painstakingly gone through all of our weddings from 2016 and are thrilled to present the rewards of all of that trust. 2016that started on Valentines day and ended on New Years Eve and included cities like Kansas City, Charlotte, Topeka, Edgerton, Kansas, Lees Summit, Brooklyn, New York, and Columbia, Missouri. Thank you from us at Wirken and here’s to 2017!                           ...
Loose Mansion, Kansas City Wedding Photography | Teaser Tuesday of Amelia and Patrick

Loose Mansion, Kansas City Wedding Photography | Teaser Tuesday of Amelia and Patrick

Nothing is sweeter as a Kansas City wedding photographer than having the privilege of documenting two weddings for the same family. It is by far one of the best perks of my job so I was extra excited to be documenting Patrick and Amelia’s wedding last Saturday at Loose Mansion. 4 years ago I photographed Patrick’s sister Megan as she married Adam. So needless to say I knew Patrick’s side of the family well. Amelia and Patrick had a small intimate wedding at one of the best wedding venues in Kansas City, Loose Mansion. I love photographing weddings at Loose Mansion as the location yields the perfect classic feeling with it’s history as well as charm. Enjoy a few of my favorite teaser images from this wonderful Kansas City wedding. Amelia sheds a tear as Patrick reads his vows to her during their ceremony at Loose Mansion in Kansas City. These two little guys were finding it hard to contain their excitement for some sweets as Amelia and Patrick cut the cake. Patrick and his father enjoy a cigar.  After some problems getting the key to work, Patrick carries Amelia across the threshold to their hotel room at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City,...

I often tell my couples that I hope something goes wrong on their wedding day. I follow up by saying nothing major of course, but every single time something goes “wrong” on a wedding day it ends up being one of the best things. Ashley and Elby experienced exactly that at their wedding,  at Loose Mansion this past Saturday.  Shortly after dinner Ashley became ill and proceeded to spend the next hour and a half in the bathroom sick,  while her guests made their way upstairs to start the dancing. It was certainly not a fun situation for the bride. Fortunately I have some of the best couples a photographer can ask for, and both Ashley and Elby took it all in stride. With the help of her husband, her best friend, and a guest/doctor, Ashley mustered up enough energy to make it up the three flights of stairs to the reception. She took her time stopping at the second landing to cool off before making one of the most triumphant entrances into a reception I have seen. The couple continued to dance like no other for the last hour of their reception. I told her that night how proud I was of her and her ability to have a good attitude and rise above the situation. It was one hell of a reception. What a fantastic wedding right down to Elby spontaneously carrying his bride into the door of their hotel room at the end of...
