Best Kansas City Wedding photos 2016 | Celebrating love in 2016

Happy 2017 from Wirken Photography! We hope your year is starting out wonderful. Ours has been a bit crazy hence this best of Kansas City wedding photos of 2016 post coming so late. But as they say better late than never. Tyler had a blast last year working with such wonderful clients. We know all photographers say they love their clients but it truly is what makes the difference for us at Wirken Photography. The trust that is given to us from our clients is paramount to making us one of the luckiest wedding photographers in Kansas City. There is simply no way Tyler could do what he does without that trust. Not only do our clients trust him to be present during sometimes intimate moments but more importantly they trust the decisions he is making on a wedding day allowing him to make the best photos possible. That relationship is crucial and we cannot thank our wonderful couples enough for allowing us to stretch our creativity and really take some risks that more often than not turn into huge rewards. With that we have painstakingly gone through all of our weddings from 2016 and are thrilled to present the rewards of all of that trust. 2016that started on Valentines day and ended on New Years Eve and included cities like Kansas City, Charlotte, Topeka, Edgerton, Kansas, Lees Summit, Brooklyn, New York, and Columbia, Missouri. Loose Mansion, Kansas City Wedding Photography | Teaser Tuesday of Amelia and Patrick

Loose Mansion, Kansas City Wedding Photography | Teaser Tuesday of Amelia and Patrick

Nothing is sweeter as a Kansas City wedding photographer than having the privilege of documenting two weddings for the same family. It is by far one of the best perks of my job so I was extra excited to be documenting Patrick and Amelia’s wedding last Saturday at Loose Mansion. 4 years ago I photographed Patrick’s sister Megan as she married Adam. So needless to say I knew Patrick’s side of the family well. Amelia and Patrick had a small intimate wedding at one of the best wedding venues in Kansas City, Loose Mansion. I love photographing weddings at Loose Mansion as the location yields the perfect classic feeling with it’s history as well as charm. Enjoy a few of my favorite teaser images from this wonderful Kansas City wedding. Amelia sheds a tear as Patrick reads his vows to her during their ceremony at Loose Mansion in Kansas City. These two little guys were finding it hard to contain their excitement for some sweets as Amelia and Patrick cut the cake. Patrick and his father enjoy a cigar.  After some problems getting the key to work, Patrick carries Amelia across the threshold to their hotel room at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City,...
Wedding photography at the Intercontinental Hotel | Kansas City

Wedding photography at the Intercontinental Hotel | Kansas City

Teaser Tuesday time for one of the most energetic couples I have ever met. Jenny and Jon got married on Sunday at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO. They had a beautiful wedding that was designed and coordinated by Michael Nolte of Nolte’s Bridal that what was jam packed with many unique aspects that I have never seen or experienced before while witnessing weddings at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. I have been a wedding photographer at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City for over 13 years and I have never seen the ceiling made to resemble clouds but I loved it. That was just one of the many things Jenny and Jon did to make their Kansas City wedding and reception one to remember. They had it all including french fries and tater tots as a late night snack for all of their wedding quests to enjoy. It was such a great wedding reception idea to compliment all the other crazy wedding reception ideas they did including a flash mob and a first dance under the clouds. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day. I love this image of Jon’s grandmother while she was waiting for the ceremony to start. Epic first dance under the clouds.  Jenny and her dad share a moment during a group dance at the reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City.  Perhaps my favorite moment of the day. Upon entering their hotel room after their wedding reception Jenny and Jon went out on the balcony and shouted-“we just got married” then...
Teaser Tuesday | Sally + Joe’s Kansas City wedding photography

Teaser Tuesday | Sally + Joe’s Kansas City wedding photography

This has been a crazy fall with weddings every weekend since September except for one. As I see the end of the season coming soon it has been a fantastic ride with some fantastic couples. Sally and Joe are no exception. They are such wonderfully thoughtful people who had a very personal wedding on Saturday at Village Presbyterian church with reception at The Intercontinental on the Plaza. I had a blast documenting their day made even better by being able to work with some of my favorite people in the business. Holly Davidson of Simple Elegance always makes it a pleasure to work with her. She runs a tight ship and always keeps her cool. The sign of a really good wedding coordinator. It was also a wonderful surprise to see Michael Beers and his band there when I entered the reception. I have been working with Michael and his band of awesome people for years and they always bring the party. All in all it was an amazing night to celebrate Sally and Joe. Here are two of my favorite images from the day. Congrats Sally and Joe! Thanks for letting me be a part of the fun. Love this image of when Sally was united with Joe at the end of aisle right after her dad gave her away. Sally and Joe dancing together at the end of the night to the sounds of the Michael Beers band....

Abbey and Rudy : Kansas City Documentary Wedding Photography at Intercontinental Hotel

I had the honor to document the wedding celebration of Abbey and Rudy in Kansas City.  A lot can be told about people by the way they treat other people around them,  and Abbey and Rudy are certainly a wonderful and kind-hearted couple who surround themselves with loving families and friends.   The day was filled with energy, love, and never ending comic reliefs by their friends and families.    On to the images.
