Best Kansas City Wedding photos 2016 | Celebrating love in 2016

Happy 2017 from Wirken Photography! We hope your year is starting out wonderful. Ours has been a bit crazy hence this best of Kansas City wedding photos of 2016 post coming so late. But as they say better late than never. Tyler had a blast last year working with such wonderful clients. We know all photographers say they love their clients but it truly is what makes the difference for us at Wirken Photography. The trust that is given to us from our clients is paramount to making us one of the luckiest wedding photographers in Kansas City. There is simply no way Tyler could do what he does without that trust. Not only do our clients trust him to be present during sometimes intimate moments but more importantly they trust the decisions he is making on a wedding day allowing him to make the best photos possible. That relationship is crucial and we cannot thank our wonderful couples enough for allowing us to stretch our creativity and really take some risks that more often than not turn into huge rewards. With that we have painstakingly gone through all of our weddings from 2016 and are thrilled to present the rewards of all of that trust. 2016that started on Valentines day and ended on New Years Eve and included cities like Kansas City, Charlotte, Topeka, Edgerton, Kansas, Lees Summit, Brooklyn, New York, and Columbia, Missouri. Wedding photography at the Intercontinental Hotel | Kansas City

Wedding photography at the Intercontinental Hotel | Kansas City

Teaser Tuesday time for one of the most energetic couples I have ever met. Jenny and Jon got married on Sunday at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO. They had a beautiful wedding that was designed and coordinated by Michael Nolte of Nolte’s Bridal that what was jam packed with many unique aspects that I have never seen or experienced before while witnessing weddings at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. I have been a wedding photographer at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City for over 13 years and I have never seen the ceiling made to resemble clouds but I loved it. That was just one of the many things Jenny and Jon did to make their Kansas City wedding and reception one to remember. They had it all including french fries and tater tots as a late night snack for all of their wedding quests to enjoy. It was such a great wedding reception idea to compliment all the other crazy wedding reception ideas they did including a flash mob and a first dance under the clouds. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day. I love this image of Jon’s grandmother while she was waiting for the ceremony to start. Epic first dance under the clouds.  Jenny and her dad share a moment during a group dance at the reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City.  Perhaps my favorite moment of the day. Upon entering their hotel room after their wedding reception Jenny and Jon went out on the balcony and shouted-“we just got married” then...
Wedding at Schwinn Produce Farm, Leavenworth, Kansas | Teaser Tuesday of Stephanie and Josh

Wedding at Schwinn Produce Farm, Leavenworth, Kansas | Teaser Tuesday of Stephanie and Josh

I had a great time photographing Stephanie and Josh’s Leavenworth Kansas wedding at the Schwinn Produce Farm. It was my first time at this awesome venue and what a perfect day to experience it all. The weather was postcard fall weather with perfect skies, amazing golden light, and a sunset to end all sunsets. The night was complete with the reception in the Schwinn Produce Farm Barn designed and coordinated by Mike Nolte of Nolte’s bridal. This laid back wedding was exactly how it should be. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day. They always say photograph what you value. I always seem to gravitate to dad and daughter moments. Wonder if it is the fact that I don’t have a daughter of my own. Who knows but these moments always get to me. Stephanie’s dad wipes tears upon seeing her in her dress. Getting announced into the reception.  This was my favorite moment of the night. The crowd has dwindled down to just the couples closes friends and they shared a final dance and hug as Journey’s “Don’t stop believing” played and the Barn staff worked to clear the...
