Stephanie + Jake | A Wichita Kansas Wedding Short Film

  Stephanie and Jake made me feel like a friend. Granted, the awkward friend who only knows two people at the party,.. but feeling like that is what I should feel like when documenting a wedding. I need to be close enough to know when I can push for a shot, and distant enough to think outside the box of the expected. They need to know me enough to trust that I will capture their day as it is and believe in that. Friendship can be a vital part of that.     Murfin Stables in Wichita Kansas provided the background for most of their wedding day. The area that most people use for their ceremony or reception wasn’t designed for that, which means brides and grooms own lighting, or use the overheads that light the stable area. To make her wedding ceremony have a more dynamic look, Stephanie decided to light it all using candles. When I first learned that, I must admit I was a bit nervous. After all I intentionally don’t break the planned ambiance of a wedding day. I think you’ll agree that it worked out just fine! The music for the reception was provided by the Patrick Lentz band and friends of the bride. The event was captured by the photography of Morgan Weber.
