Grand Street Kansas City Wedding Photography | Teaser Tuesday of Drew and Libby

Grand Street Kansas City Wedding Photography | Teaser Tuesday of Drew and Libby

This wedding has seemed like a long time coming. I first met Drew and Libby when I was asked by Drew to photograph his proposal to Libby at the Plaza in Kansas City last December. I love being a Kansas City proposal photographer and was excited to document Drew and Libby’s. What I did not expect was how great both of their families would be that night. It was to be an insight as to how awesome this wedding was to be. Just like that December night on the Plaza, their families did not disappoint on Saturday either. The day was filled with such love, tears, and one of the best parties I have seen in a while. The Grand Street Grand Room was rocking.  Congrats Drew and Libby! Here a few of my favorites from the day. Libby rode with her parents to the ceremony all the while laughing about how big her dress was and how they were drowning in Thule. Drew listens to a toast by his brother.  The dance floor was packed all night long.  The band loaned out some of their instruments. Not sure they intended this type of use.  One of my favorite end of the night moments to date. I love how they just sat on the floor of their hotel room at the end of the night and leaned on each...
Wedding photography at the Intercontinental Hotel | Kansas City

Wedding photography at the Intercontinental Hotel | Kansas City

Teaser Tuesday time for one of the most energetic couples I have ever met. Jenny and Jon got married on Sunday at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO. They had a beautiful wedding that was designed and coordinated by Michael Nolte of Nolte’s Bridal that what was jam packed with many unique aspects that I have never seen or experienced before while witnessing weddings at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. I have been a wedding photographer at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City for over 13 years and I have never seen the ceiling made to resemble clouds but I loved it. That was just one of the many things Jenny and Jon did to make their Kansas City wedding and reception one to remember. They had it all including french fries and tater tots as a late night snack for all of their wedding quests to enjoy. It was such a great wedding reception idea to compliment all the other crazy wedding reception ideas they did including a flash mob and a first dance under the clouds. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day. I love this image of Jon’s grandmother while she was waiting for the ceremony to start. Epic first dance under the clouds.  Jenny and her dad share a moment during a group dance at the reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City.  Perhaps my favorite moment of the day. Upon entering their hotel room after their wedding reception Jenny and Jon went out on the balcony and shouted-“we just got married” then...
Teaser Tuesday | Two Kansas City Wedding photographs of Katie and Jason

Teaser Tuesday | Two Kansas City Wedding photographs of Katie and Jason

Katie and Jason had a beautiful wedding reception at the Intercontinental Hotel that was expertly designed and coordinated by Michael Nolte of Nolte’s bridal but I found my two favorite photos of the day happened in the limo. I often find myself drawn to the moments between the moments as well as moments that truly represent how it felt on that day. I love these two photos and how they are basically the same photo but tell entirely different stories. Image one is of Katie on her way to the ceremony with her parents in the limo. I was waiting patiently for the light to strike her face and was hoping it would happen with a row of colorful fall trees outside. It finally came together in a split second flicker of light as the limo passed by the trees. I love how she is seemingly deep in thought by herself. Then following the ceremony I was equally stubborn about the photo I wanted as I lay on the floor of the limo utilizing the tiny green accent lights waiting for a moment between Katie and Jason. A very different photo with a totally different...

I had the honor to document the wedding celebration of Abbey and Rudy in Kansas City.  A lot can be told about people by the way they treat other people around them,  and Abbey and Rudy are certainly a wonderful and kind-hearted couple who surround themselves with loving families and friends.   The day was filled with energy, love, and never ending comic reliefs by their friends and families.    On to the images.
