Allison + Brady | A Colorado Springs Wedding Video

I first met Brady when I was searching around to hire a new wedding assistant almost four years ago. He was pointed out to me by his sister in law, who was working at our studio at the time, and I’m sure she knew she was pointing me in the direction of assistant gold. Within only a few weddings I found myself treating Brady as an equal shooter, not just an assistant, and eventually we got to the point where we didn’t even need to talk to do our jobs. He just knew what I wanted and did it. Some of which he did much better than me. When he told me he was going to propose to his girlfriend Allison and then move out of town to live with her, I was naturally both happy and sad. Happy that he was going to be finally marrying the long time love of his life, but sad that the best assistant ever was going to be leaving. I told him right there that he was going to have me shoot his wedding and there was nothing he could do about it. Lucky for me, Allison agreed. How they stare at each other during the ceremony really speaks louder than any words I could speak about their day. It was an honor to get to spend time with them on their special weekend, both as a documentarian and a friend.       They were married last summer at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Their invitations and table decorations were made by Lovely Paper Things, and the flowers were designed...

This one was special. It was special for many reasons. For starters the groom was Brandon’s previous assistant for Wirken Films so Brady has seen and heard it all working along side of me. So it was an honor when he and his then finance Allison asked us to travel to Colorado to document their wedding. Having the wedding in Colorado was perhaps the most special part. Not only for me, I LOVE Colorado, but more importantly for Allison. Brady and Allison chose to get married at the base of the foothills in Colorado Springs in order to be as close as possible to Allison’s dad who is buried nearby at the Air force Base. You could really feel his presence that day especially during the ceremony when the clouds parted right before the processional and beautiful light broke through as Allison made her way down the aisle with her brother. It was incredible to witness. To make it even more special I had the privilege to have my dear friend from The Foundation Workshop and Sedona Bride owner and photographer Katrina Wallace be my second shooter. What a treat it is to be able to shoot with one of your great friends. The wedding did not disappoint. Brandon and I were honored to be able to be there to document Brady and Allison’s story.
