Best Kansas City Wedding photos 2016 | Celebrating love in 2016

Happy 2017 from Wirken Photography! We hope your year is starting out wonderful. Ours has been a bit crazy hence this best of Kansas City wedding photos of 2016 post coming so late. But as they say better late than never. Tyler had a blast last year working with such wonderful clients. We know all photographers say they love their clients but it truly is what makes the difference for us at Wirken Photography. The trust that is given to us from our clients is paramount to making us one of the luckiest wedding photographers in Kansas City. There is simply no way Tyler could do what he does without that trust. Not only do our clients trust him to be present during sometimes intimate moments but more importantly they trust the decisions he is making on a wedding day allowing him to make the best photos possible. That relationship is crucial and we cannot thank our wonderful couples enough for allowing us to stretch our creativity and really take some risks that more often than not turn into huge rewards. With that we have painstakingly gone through all of our weddings from 2016 and are thrilled to present the rewards of all of that trust. 2016that started on Valentines day and ended on New Years Eve and included cities like Kansas City, Charlotte, Topeka, Edgerton, Kansas, Lees Summit, Brooklyn, New York, and Columbia, Missouri. Thank you from us at Wirken and here’s to 2017!                           ...
Wedding Video at the Grand Ballroom in Kansas City

Wedding Video at the Grand Ballroom in Kansas City

The Kansas City wedding film of Brooke and Nate is one to remember. I often find it hard to make a brief wedding film from a lengthy Jewish wedding celebration. The Jewish wedding tradition has so many things going on; some of them take very little time (like the breaking of the Challah bread and blessing), whereas others can take a lot (for example a Tish). The wedding of Brooke and Nate was no exception. It had all of that and more set against the backdrop of one of Kansas Cities biggest wedding venues, the Grand Ballroom. Together with their wedding planner, none other than the amazing Ellyn Bold, Brooke, Nate and their loved ones dove into this event feet first. The result was one of the most extravagant wedding celebrations I witnessed in Kansas City last year.     The wedding was designed and coordinated by Ellyn Bold who added her amazing flare to the day, bringing on board amazing vendors such as Studio Dan Meiners for the floral and decorations, Party on the Moon for the music, and K-Dog for the photography.  ...

Abbey and Rudy : Kansas City Documentary Wedding Photography at Intercontinental Hotel

I had the honor to document the wedding celebration of Abbey and Rudy in Kansas City.  A lot can be told about people by the way they treat other people around them,  and Abbey and Rudy are certainly a wonderful and kind-hearted couple who surround themselves with loving families and friends.   The day was filled with energy, love, and never ending comic reliefs by their friends and families.    On to the images. Carly & Marc | Kansas City Backyard Wedding Photography

Carly & Marc | Kansas City Backyard Wedding Photography

The first time I “met” Marc and Carly was through Skype video call that bridged the gap between Los Angeles where they live and our studio in Kansas City.  It is often said that the first impression is a lasting impression and this is certainly the case for Marc and Carly as they struck me as a very kind and down to earth couple.    What I love about our conversation with Marc and Carly is that they showed a deep and genuine interest in my philosophy and approach as a documentary wedding photographer.  Furthermore, Carly often mentioned about her niece whom she absolutely loves and adores and is the flower girl for their wedding, and from that point on I knew that the wedding is going to be a family affair which I absolutely love.   Marc and Carly also told me that the wedding is going to be held at the backyard of Carly’s parents house.  Studio Dan Meiner in Kansas City did their magic that transformed the backyard into an outdoor party space and lounge with west coast flare, and dj Scott Kaiser provided the party with music. (Image below taken by Matt) Surrounded by her closest friends Carly is composing her wedding vow. (Image below taken by Matt) Sticking one’s tongue is the universal language of concentration.
