I rarely shoot for myself. It is something I am trying to do more. So when I was in Bali, Indonesia recently to teach at the Fearless Photographers class I figured it was time to do some Bali, Indonesia travel photography. I am glad I did. I was even inspired by a student at the workshop to get up at dawn and shoot. Something I hardly ever do. It was nice to think in a new way and make pictures based on light, color, composition and waiting for a moment to happen. It was my first time to Asia and my first time making travel photographs in this beautiful country. Even though I was there to teach photography I ended up learning myself. I learned how much I really enjoy making photos. I learned how important it is to take time and exercise another part of my photographic brain and make something for myself. I learned how amazing Asia and Bali, Indonesia is. I am so thankful for this opportunity from my friend Huy Nguyen and Fearless Photographers to not only teach a wonderful group of photographers from Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, United States, Vietnam, India, and Malaysia but to be able to witness and experience this wonderful part of the country.
