Allison + Josh | Wedding | 4.6.08

So I am perpetually behind on blogging weddings, well blogging in general actually. April and May were just crazy with weddings and now that I have a breather I am committed to getting you all caught up on what is happening over here with me.

Allison and Josh’s details:

starlight theatre wedding on the stage design by Trapp and Co of Kansas City
The room was AMAZING! Trapp did a phenomenal job with the space.

The first meeting.

jewish bedeken ceremony

This was a first for me. I have shot a bunch of Jewish weddings and never had the chance to cover a Bedeken ceremony.

Basically it is a veiling ceremony. Where the bride and groom are in different rooms, one with only men the other with

only women. The groom then gets paraded in and veils the bride. Pretty cool.  I am not really sure what it is about exactly

but I did google it and found this explanation.  It is a bit long so I if you are interested go check it out.

At Jewish weddings there is a traditon where as soon as the ceremony is over the bride and groom go into a room for a

few minutes by themselves. Many times they need a few friends to keep a watch out. Sometimes the guards are curious.

The most elaborate cake table I have ever seen. Pretty cool.

I love moments like this. Here they are parcticing their first dance backstage before they were introduced.

A bit of craziness on my end here. Back in my newspaper days I loved to mount cameras in cool places to gain a differnt

perspective on things. So we mounted a camera in the rafters on a remote that we were able to shoot with all night. This

is great as it enables me to shoot the same scene from two different angles. You can see me shooting on the floor in this

image.

Tyler,
you are always hitting it out of the park mounting cameras at all heights! It definitely paid off here.

I love the pictures that you captured from this wedding, the lighting was awesome and you did a great job capturing everything! Way to go. 🙂

Wow! All of the images are great, but I especially like the way you did the cake table and the first dance. Your remote pictures of the dance floor…kind of like an out of body experience….very cool.

I’m glad you blogged those- I was looking forward to seeing those! What an incredible wedding- your work really showed off the beauty of the event. I love the remote shot- and that shot of Josh getting ready is priceless!
